Custom Therapeutic Massage

This type of massage involves the manipulation of soft tissues to alleviate pain, reduce muscle tension, and promote overall relaxation. Therapeutic massage can be tailored to target specific areas of the body or to address particular conditions such as chronic pain, sports injuries, or stress-related tension. A variety of techniques including deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, myofascial release*, and trigger point therapy will be used to create a massage specific to your individual needs.

*Myofascial Release: Our entire body is covered by one continuous layer of tissue called fascia. Myofascial release is a modality of bodywork that directly engages the fascia through slow, consistent pressure with very little lubrication. The goal of this work is to lengthen the fascia which can help to increase mobility, relieve tension, and be supportive for those suffering from chronic pain.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on therapy that focuses on the craniosacral system, which encompasses the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. The craniosacral rhythm (created by the flow of cerebral spinal fluid in the central nervous system) is used to detect areas of restrictions. Light pressure is then applied to these areas to help release tension and restore the natural movement of fluids within the craniosacral system. Many people seek craniosacral therapy for conditions such as migraines, chronic pain, TMJ, fibromyalgia, anxiety, and trauma recovery.

Somato-emotional release is a therapeutic process that considers the emotional component of healing. Long-held emotional trauma is stored in the body as an energetic charge, impacting physical and mental health. During a craniosacral therapy session, dialogue may be used to help release or redirect any emotional charge that your body is ready to let go.

Sessions are done while the client is fully clothed and lying on their back on a massage table. Loose fitting, comfy clothing is recommended.
