Meet the Bodyworkers

aubrie moran

My name is Aubrie (she/her) and I am a massage and craniosacral therapist based in Burlington, VT since 2020. In addition, I spent 20 years in the research compliance field at the University of Vermont, and I am now excited to transition to providing bodywork full-time. I am a born-and-raised Vermonter, avid adventurer, and fierce lover of the luscious wilderness. I began massage school with a deep desire to facilitate the healing process of others. Little did I realize, I'd be embarking on my own profound healing journey. It was in massage school that I came face to face with my own deeply held trauma that was greatly impacting my ability to live a full and present life. This realization opened a doorway for me to begin exploring other forms of somatic healing, embodiment practices and movement therapies, allowing me to begin the process of releasing from my body that which no longer served me.

In my practice, I aim to create an inclusive and trauma-informed environment where all bodies feel welcome and safe. My therapeutic approach focuses on collaboration, working alongside my clients to help them uncover the remarkable inner wisdom and healing potential within their own bodies. Drawing from my training in massage and craniosacral therapies, somatic release, and energy work, as well as my personal life experiences, we will work together to tailor each session to support you in achieving your healing goals.  I am committed to helping individuals heal and believe that through our healing we become agents of cultural change.

Atom Moran

Greetings & welcome, my name is Atom (they/them). I come to this work along my own journey of healing from childhood & religious trauma. As I labored to mend from my history, I unearthed a yearning to support my community and began to understand my capacity to heal others. Seeking to honor the many mentors and guides that led me to this integrative path, I searched for a patch of soil to plant this seed, finding it here in Burlington, Vermont. As my seed sprouted, I studied, learned, and listened, and as it began to push its shoots into the heavens, I enrolled in massage school and will graduate as a certified massage therapist in May 2025.

I believe our bodies are composed of music and rhythm, which is to say not every part is always in tune or in sync with the rest of our symphony of life. My goal as your practitioner is to listen to this music, to sense its rhythm, and to guide this vessel of memory to harmony. My massage approach blends Swedish, Thai, deep tissue/myofascial release, and orthopedic techniques to cater to your individual needs during each visit.

Training and Certifications:

  • Registered Massage Therapist - Vermont

  • 700-Hour Certificate of Massage Therapy - Balance Massage School, Waterbury (May 2025)

Equity and Inclusivity

bodyspeak is created and run by spouse couple aubrie (she/her) and atom (they/them) moran. We acknowledge the systemic barriers that impede the progress of the BIPOC and LGBTQAI2S+ communities and are committed to cultivating an environment that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusivity for those in our community. We believe that everyone, regardless of their race, background, identity, ability, age or beliefs, deserves access to therapies that facilitate their healing in a welcoming and respectful setting.

We understand this sentiment extends far beyond representation. It demands continuous education and self-reflection to ensure our practices remain accessible and preserves the integrity, dignity, and autonomy of all. We are committed to dismantling barriers and working to create a safe environment where everyone feels valued and comfortable, both in our professional practices and in our daily lives. We are always learning and open to feedback that helps us to decolonize ourselves and our work.

Land Acknowledgment

We acknowledge that our massage studio is located in N’dakinna [in-DAH-kee-NAH], or “our homeland”, the traditional and unceded lands of the Western Abenaki people. We honor their enduring connection to the land and waters and recognize the injustices rooted in colonialism and systemic oppression they continue to endure. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive space for all and are grateful for the opportunity to practice here in Burlington, Vermont.
